The Sterling Savings Bank Bite of Bend 2010 a Huge Success!
(BEND, Ore) The Sterling Savings Bank Bite of Bend and Lay It Out Events would like to thank all of the sponsors, vendors, musicians and attendees for making the 2010 Bite of Bend Festival what many of the 25,000 attendees are calling “The Best Bite of All Time!”
Hailing attendees from far across the region, the Bite of Bend delivered some of the best local food, drinks, music and special events the festival has ever featured. With big draws such as Rubblebucket, the incredible March Fourth Marching Band, the Aesthetic Junkies and more than 40 local food vendors, the crowds were beyond delighted throughout the two day festival, held on June 26-27th in downtown Bend.
The Top Chef Competition fired on over the two days, with returning Top Chef Roscoe Roberson of Kokanee Café defending his title to the end to be named Top Chef 2010. The Bend Beer Run was another success with more than 400 beer-loving athletes all running for a great cause- The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Oregon. Also returning was the wildly popular Bartender’s Brawl, with 5 Fusion’s Brad Erwin taking the prize.

The Sterling Savings Bite of Bend Festival Returns to Downtown Bend June 26-27th, 2010
(BEND, Ore) Sterling Savings Bank, together with Lay It Out Events, is pleased to announce the 8th annual Bite of Bend on June 26-27th.
The Bite of Bend is Central Oregon!s largest and most celebrated charity event & food festival. First created as a way to raise additional funds for local charities, the Bite continues to be one of the most popular festivals in Central Oregon. With over 20,000 in attendance in 2009, this year promises to offer a taste for every palate, while raising funds for local charities.
The Bite’s mission is to celebrate local culture highlighting the tastes of our region. Featuring over 40 local food vendors, each offering a “bite” to sample. The Oregon Marketplace will showcase food, produce and products from Oregon. It is the focus on local that makes the Bite of Bend thrive.
Returning this year is the wildly popular Top Chef Competition, where local celebrity chefs battle for the prestigious title. The 2nd Annual Bend Beer Run will take place on Saturday morning, through Downtown Bend and Drake Park.
The Bite of Bend is free to all, and offers a wide array of fun for everyone, including a children!s area, a performance stage featuring local musicians, beer and wine gardens, and over 40 regional food vendors showcasing their culinary delights. The Bite of Bend takes place on June 26th from 11:00 am -10:00 pm, and Sunday the 27th from 11:00 am -7:00 pm.

The Sterling Savings Bank Bite of Bend moves to June 26 and 27
Bend, OR—March 4, 2010—The Sterling Savings Bank Bite of Bend has moved from the third to the last weekend of June. The Bite of Bend will take place on Saturday and Sunday, June 26 and 27, in downtown Bend.
The Sterling Savings Bank Bite of Bend is Central Oregon’s most exciting and fastest-growing charity event and festival. This event is free to the public and includes a wide array of activities such as the live Top Chef competition, live music, a children’s area and local fine food, beer, wine and spirits. In addition local food vendors will offer “bites” of their creative provisions.
The mission of The Sterling Savings Bank Bite of Bend is to celebrate our local culture and the unique foods of our region. The Oregon Marketplace showcases local food and farm-grown produce, and all food, wine and entertainment hails from the great state of Oregon.
Created as a way to raise additional funds for local charities, the Bite drew over 20,000 attendees in 2009. Since its inception in 2003, The Bite of Bend has raised over $30,000 for charitable causes. This year’s charity will again be the Kid’s Center. Serving Central and Eastern Oregon, the Kids Intervention and Diagnostic Service Center provides abused children with a safe, friendly place to begin healing.
